Slow Cooker Caribou Stew

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 pound smoose meat, cut into cubes
  • tablespoon vegetable oil, or as needed
  • cup sbeef stock
  • carrots, cut into 1-inch piece s
  • stalk scelery, cut into 1-inch piece s
  • large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • large onion, chopped
  • (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice
  • bay leaves
  • teaspoon sdried oregano
  • teaspoon sWorcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sdried thyme
  • teaspoon minced garlic

Instructions

  1. Place flour in a shallow bowl. Dredge meat in flour to coat; shake off excess.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium. Add meat; cook and stir until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a large slow cooker; add beef stock, carrots, celery, potatoes, onion, diced tomatoes with juice, bay leaves, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and garlic. Gently stir mixture.
  3. Cover the slow cooker. Cook on Low for 8 hours.
