Ingredients
- cup sRice Krispies cereal
- tbsp butter
- (16 oz) packagemini marshmallows
- tsp vanilla extra ct
- cooking spray
- (heart-shaped) cookie cutter, optional, see notes
- sprinkles, optional
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until completely melted and well combined. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Coat a large spatula or spoon with cooking spray to prevent sticking (or coat your fingers with water) and press the mixture firmly into a greased 9×9 inch baking pan. Add sprinkles to the top if using.
- Allow the mixture to cool and set for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, use a cookie cutter to cut out rice krispie treats in the desired shape. For the leftover pieces, simple place into the cookie cutter to make more of the shape.
- Feel free to get creative and decorate the treats with icing, sprinkles, or chocolate drizzle for an extra special touch. Enjoy!
