Homemade Rice-A-Roni

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon sbutter
  • 1 cup spaghetti or vermicellibroken into 1/2 inch piece s
  • 1 1/2 cup slong grain white rice
  • 4 cup schicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon schopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoesoptional

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the pasta to the pan and cook until browned, about 3 5 minutes.
  3. Add the rice to the pan and cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Add the chicken broth, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and pepper to the pan.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Cover the pan and turn the heat to low.
  6. Cook for approximately 15 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and sprinkle with parsley.
  7. Stir in tomatoes if using, then serve.
